Hands of Incense
After the priest worships before the altar door and kisses its doorstep, he ascends and kisses the altar. The deacon offers him the censor who in turn takes it with his left hand and takes the censor box with his right hand.
Presence of Other Companion Priest(s):
If there were another companion priest or more, they should be standing on the right side of the altar. Before the praying priest puts incense in the censor, he looks at the companion priest and bows his head and says: "eulogite" meaning "bless for plural" if more than one priest, or " eulogicon" meaning "bless for singular". In turn, they bow their heads and say " n;ok eulogicon" meaning "you bless".
Then, the praying priest crosses the incense box saying: "In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit one God". Afterwards, puts one hand of incense saying: "Blessed be God the Father, the Pandocrator, Amen." Then, he crosses the incense box a puts another hand saying: "Blessed be His only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen"
However, if there is one or more companion priest(s), then the second hand is their portion; meaning that each companion priest puts incense in the censor saying: "Blessed be His only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."
Following, he crosses the incense box a third time and puts a third hand of incense in the censor saying: "Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete. Amen". Then, he puts two more hands of incense, without crossing the incense box, saying: "Glory and honor, honor and glory to the All-Holy Trinity, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and at all times and unto the age of all ages. Amen."
 Before the use of a spoon, the priest used to put the incense grain in his hands and then into the shura.
 Ascending to the altar is always done with the right foot facing East from the right side. Descending is done with the left foot and the facing West from the left side.
 In modern liturgical books, the rite says that the priest puts his finger on the incenses box and say:"In the name of the Father ...". However, this rite is mentioned by Heghumen Abd Al Messieh but not mentioned by Pope Ghabrial the 5th in his manuscript "Al Tarteeb Al Taksy".
 If the Patriarch or the Bishop is present, then the priest and the deacon bring him the incense box and the censor respectively. The bishop crosses the box and puts the incense in the censor. Then, in the second hand, the bishop puts the incense in the hands of the priest who puts it in the censor without crossing saying: "Blessed be His only-begotten Son ..."
